RHODE ISLAND WWI US ARMY OFFICER SPECIAL EVENING DRESS UNIFORM MODEL 1902 (1912)
1902 Model Army Officer's Special Evening Dress Uniform coat (full tails), 1912, owned by Lt. Colonel Michael J. Lynch, aid to Rhode Island Governor R. Livingston Beeckman. Overall excellent condition. Fantastic gold bullion ornamentation on sleeves. Beautiful silk lining. Rare Rhode Island buttons with anchor and state motto "Hope."
Tear on right sleeve, about 1 1/2 inches by 1 inch. Can be seen in last picture. No loss of fabric, easily repaired. Otherwise this jacket is impeccable, with no stains, no missing buttons, very clean with excellent lining.
Tailored by Chas. H. Lee Company, Providence, Rhode Island. Label inside pocket indicates the coat was owned by "Col. Michael J. Lynch." Custom made hence no stated size. Around 42 or 44, 17 1/2 inches across at the underarms. Sleeves about 26 inches long. Large size, with generous shoulder room.
