Unusual WWII plaque presented to the British Broadcasting Company BBC by the Dutch government in recognition of coverage during the war.
Inscribed: "1940-1945 Aan de British Broadcasting Corporation Voor levensmoed en troost aan nederland geschonken in jaren van druk"
Roughly translated: "1940-1945 To the British Broadcasting Corporation For providing courage and support to the Netherlands through years of journalism."
Made of fired clay, 11 inches by 6 1/4 inches by 9/16 inches thick. Excellent condition. Minor abrasion at top of plaque, no chips, no cracks.
A rare unusual piece.
