Late 19th or early 20th Century African Maasai hunter's or herder's group, same owner, very rare, all handmade, with sword, club, bow and arrow, spear and gourd, including:
- Ol Alem herder's knife/short sword, leather wrapped handle, 10 1/2 inch blade, 15 1/2 inch overall length, with red dyed leather sheath, hand stitched, with "loop" for strap and metal coin-shaped piece stitched to tip, 10 1/2 inches long
- Club - 24 inches with 2-inch diameter head
- Bow - 37 1/2 inch
- Arrow with forged metal tip and hand-tied feathers at base of shaft - 23 1/4 inch
- Spear with twisted cast iron and steel tip, hand carved wooden shaft, missing butt cap (metal end piece) - 30 inches with 15 1/2 inch foreshaft and tip
- Gourd - 7 1/2 inches long, suspended by 18-inch cord with alternating seeds and cane(?) beads
All of the items are held together by two straps. One is of original soft leather and the other is a later replacement that appears to be made out of a piece of rubber from an inner tube.
