Louizor is widely considered the most important Haitian impressionist painter and perhaps the most important in the Caribbean. His subjects typically include marketplace and landscape scenes, with portraits and nudes being much rarer.

The piece has not been taken out of the frame. The canvas is in very good condition, with bright colors and no visible issues. The frame appears to be original, approximately 25 x 29 inches, with a chip to the back of the top left corner and some wear.

This is a rare opportunity to own an increasingly collectible work by an influential, sought after artist.
