FRENCH FOREIGN LEGION PARADE DRESS UNIFORM JACKET TUNIC WITH EPAULETTES 1964
1964 French Foreign Legion Parade Dress uniform jacket with epaulettes. Includes "Ne Pas Subir" (Do Not Give In) right shoulder patch with beautiful gold thread embroidery, motto of the Second Marine Infantry Parachute Regiment; left shoulder patch of the French Foreign legion; and 4th Foreign Legion Artillery pocket fob with leather hanger.
Amazing condition for a uniform over 50 years old. No holes, tears or stains, nicely lined. All buttons present, free of oxidation. French size 31. Wool, marked "Mitin Antimite." Tag indicates the jacket was made in Toulouse in 1964, "Ets MA. VE. LA." The epaulettes are the original, matched set, marked on the reverse by the manufacturer "M. FERRERO," numbered "1" and "2," and appear to have the owner's name in pen, which is illegible.
The owner of this jacket served in the 4th Foreign Regiment, which was disbanded around 1962 and absorbed into the 2nd Foreign Infantry Regiment.
